Parent Teacher Association
The HCAS PTA was created neither from appointment by the school nor by the election by a parent body. Parents from all grades simply began to gather on a volunteer basis to share their input and feedback about HCAS in an ad hoc manner until the body formed its own organization and momentum. HCAS then naturally decided to formally recognize regular gatherings of these volunteers as the official PTA meeting. As described by Horace Mann, individuals organized in voluntary associations, just as our education should be taught by the spirit, methods, and discipline of a free society. Currently, HCAS parent representatives from all grades meet once monthly with administrators and teachers.
HCAS stakeholders include the Board of Trustees, parents, teachers, students, administrators, faculty, the greater Zhubei community, and staff. Important functions of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) include streamlining communication between parents and our school, supporting school activities, providing input on school decisions to administrators, and supporting our school at all times.
