Advisor to the Board
Peter Shon is the former Head of School for Hsinchu County American School (HCAS). He is also an international doctoral student at Nazarbayev University, Graduate School of Education (NUGSE) in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania, GSE. Peter’s research interests include globalization, internationalization of higher education, and international student mobility.
Prior to his work in HCAS, Peter worked as the Director and Associate Head of international schools (K to 12) in Shanghai, China; Incheon, South Korea; and Astana, Kazakhstan. He has led the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation process in the past and helped to implement both Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs.
Before his tenure in international schools, Peter worked as the Assistant Director of Admission at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City where he recruited and admitted both national and international educators. He currently has over 20 years of combined experience working in primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
