This week is Spirit Week here at HCAS! Each day is packed with its own theme, creativity, and fun! Here are the 5 posters! Big round of applause to the student council for organizing this event and for staying after school to decorate various photo spots around the campus! Every day after lunch, there will be Student Council members taking photos for you 📸. And at the end of the week, we'll send out a survey of the photos so YOU can vote for the most outstanding outfits of each day. The winners for each day will also receive a special prize 🎁!!! Well done everyone! Today we had a record-time fire drill of 6 minutes and 13 seconds. Thanks to Dean Austin for leading this process to our new record time! As next Friday is Spirit Week, our entire school can enjoy a casual dress day on the following Wednesday, September 27th (the last school day of the following week). Thank you all for the effective collaboration and happy Friday!

HCAS kindergarteners have been learning about their school community. They have had several visitors to the kindergarten to talk about their roles in the school. Members of the school leadership team, as well as upper school teachers, came to talk about what they do, and each read a story to the class.

It was truly a heartwarming experience to witness the older students engage with the little ones, sparking curiosity and wonder. The chemistry experiments, carefully curated for their age, brought science to life in a way that textbooks simply cannot. The kindergartners' faces lit up with amazement as they witnessed colorful chemical reactions, bubbling potions, and mesmerizing transformations. This interaction between high school and kindergarten students not only fostered a sense of community within our school but also demonstrated the immense power of education through fun and interactive learning experiences. On Saturday some of our grade 8 to 11 students hopped on the train to Miaoli and helped clean the beach of plastic debris amidst afternoon downpours. Yesterday was the first day of our Lab Fair, where Monday and Tuesday lab leaders and mentors can present their labs to grade 6 to 12 students, so that they have a better understanding of what each lab is about. Some of the many labs offered this semester include: Chess, Woodworking, Advanced MUN, MUN for Beginners, Acoustic Guitar, YOGA, Sport Science Club, Wind Instrument Club and more!

All our amazing scholars are back from the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Global Round in Seoul, jangling with medals, and loaded with trophies!!! 🥇 🥈 🏆🦙📚 They did SO WELL!!! Every single one of our scholars qualified for the final Tournament of Champions at Yale University in November! We couldn't be prouder of our amazing students. Many thanks to our two teachers, Mr. Travis McDonald and Ms. Mina Lai, and our valiant coordinator Ms. Alicia Chuang for making such an amazing and memorable trip for all our distinguished scholars. The Best & the Ｍost Delicious School Lunch in Northern Taiwan Lunch is an essential part of the day to keep us going throughout the entire day of work or study. The difference between having a good lunch or not is night and day on our mood and energy level, and having a good lunch will keep us amped up for the rest of the day, won’t you all agree? At HCAS we are confident that our school lunch is one of the best, if not the best in Northern Taiwan. It is so good that having lunch is something that all the teachers, students, and staff look forward to and discuss each day.
